A DEPUTY headteacher has been banned from class for ten year after having sex with teenage schoolgirls but was also given an £8,000 payout with a glowing reference by education chiefs, a disciplinary hearing was told.
Jonathan Norbury is accused of sleeping with three girls under the ages of 16.
The 35-year-old also allegedly snuck one pupil into his classroom cupboard for sexual activity.
Two years ago Norbury was cleared in court for having underage sex with two of the girls after insisting nothing had happened until they had turned 16.
However after the criminal case education chiefs then launched their own investigation and sacked him from his primary school job.
Chiefs say he was sacked for gross misconduct.
But a disciplinary hearing has now been told that despite the allegations of sexual activity with teenage students, Swansea Council gave Mr Norbury a glowing reference.
