Southern Cape police say, together with the community, they were able to make a quick arrest in a gang rape case near Knysna.Four suspects, aged between 16 and 17, were taken into custody shortly after the attack on Friday in an area called White Location.
They briefly appeared in the Knysna Magistrates’ Court earlier this week where the matter was postponed until later this month.
It is understood the 15-year-old rape survivor is receiving counselling.
The police’s Malcolm Poje says: “With the speedy work done by the detectives and the members at Knysna Police Station with information from the community, they arrested the four. They were brought before court on 14 February on the counts of rape. All were remanded in custody.”
