Gauteng police have arrested a man accused of raping a woman in a taxi three months ago.The suspect was among 65 people arrested during “Operation Paseka” in Diepsloot yesterday.
It’s alleged the taxi driver drove the woman to a spot near Lion Park informal settlement where he raped her in January.
The police’s Daniel Mavimbela says the woman escaped after she jumped out of the moving taxi.
“Yesterday she happened to spot the taxi driver and notified the police. They immediately jumped into action and managed to arrest him.”
