A 28-year-old woman has managed to escape after she was raped and held captive for more than 24 hours in Newlands Forest.She was attacked while jogging on Tuesday evening.
The police’s Andre Traut said, "A 28-year-old female was attacked by a suspect on Tuesday evening in Newlands Forest, held captive and raped in an isolated area. She managed to escape last night and reported the incident to the police."
Police says it's too early to link the incident to other similar cases in the area in recent weeks.
