JOHANNESBURG - 4 YEAR OLD POISONED AND STRANGLED BY MOTHER'S BOYFRIEND!

A four-year old girl was poisoned and strangled by her mother’s boyfriend, in an alleged revenge attack over the death of his own mother, the Star reported on Friday.

The incident began when the Berta Mashaba’s boyfriend went to Limpopo to visit his sick mother. When she passed away he called Mashaba to tell her she was to blame for her death.

 

Mashaba said when he returned to his home in Lawley, south of Johannesburg, he accused her of breaking his DVD player. When she went to his house to sort out the issue, he allegedly tried to stab her.

“He said: ‘Today I want to kill you because you killed my mother’,” she told the paper.

 

A neighbour broke into the house and managed to stop the attack. The incident was reported to the police on Monday.

Then, on Wednesday the man was looking after Mashaba’s two girls when he sent the older one to the store.

“When the older ones came back, the younger one was sleeping in the man’s bed, closed up in blankets. He sent them away again to buy snacks. When they came back the child was gone,” Mashaba told the newspaper.

The mother rushed to the house when she heard, and she and other residents searched for the young girl.

The police also became involved and searched the man’s house and a nearby field.
“This morning (the police) asked (him about it) again and he confessed. He gave the child food but the food was poisoned. After that he strangled her and hid the child under the mattress in the base of the bed,” said Mashaba.

Gauteng police confirmed a 24-year old man had been arrested and charged with murder.
