A 23-year old woman was raped and her 35-year old boyfriend murdered in a brutal attack in Nkanini. The young woman was spending the night at her boyfriend’s home when it happened.
“I was lying close to the wall and he (the suspect) was waving the gun around threatening to shoot if I didn’t come out of the bed,” the woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Cape Argus.
“He only shot him (her boyfriend) once.”
The woman told the paper she feared her attacker would come after her because she reported the matter to the police.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut, the man is expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
