A 55 year old teacher has been arrested for molesting a learner, confirmed Constable Malele Ntlhoro of Mmametlhake Police Station. The suspect was later released and will appear in the Mbibane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The girl told the Daily Sun that the Mpumalanga teacher had told her she would fail grade 11 if she told anyone that he was keeping her after class to molest her.
The suspect allegedly kept the girl after class every day and forced the girl to strip naked. He then proceeded to grope her private parts.
“This monster has been keeping my child at the school until late in the afternoon since May,” said the child’s father.
“He would strip her naked and grope her private parts and her bums. My child said at times he would touch her all over. It was only a matter of time before he raped her.”
“I am deeply disturbed about this. I thought I was sending my child to school to shape her future, not to be turned into someone else’s sex toy. This has also affected her so badly and her school work has suffered.”
Mpumalanga education spokesman Jasper Zwane said an investigation has been launched on the matter and the girl has been given counselling for the traumatic ordeal.
